While, there’s very little spoken word (and what words are spoken are by none other than Top Gear’s James May), this Shell ad does a killer job of capturing the essence of the Ferrari brand. This is story telling at its finest, with all the elements anyone could ask for—mystery, sensuality, intimacy. It exercises the past, present and future and it taps into our dreams of driving one of these mythical beasts. It’s a blitzkrieg on the the senses. From the basso-profundo notes of the early front-engine era, each scene cuts to a newer generation, ending with the banshee-scream of the ridiculously sexy modern F1 car.
