Wilderland Botanicals had a vision of creating a brand that would stand apart in the competitive world of herbal wellness.

The Challenge

The challenge was to craft a brand strategy to reflect the company’s deep commitment to health and sustainability as well as to effectively communicate its unique value in a crowded marketplace.

As Canada’s first regenerative organic Rhodiola rosea farm and one of the first in the Yukon’s growing regenerative farming community, Wilderland needed to establish itself as one of North America’s premier sources for premium herbal medicines.

With competitors such as Harmonic Arts and St. Francis Herbs, Wilderland also needed a name, a story, a strong visual identity, beautiful packaging, and an online presence to connect with wellness-conscious consumers while positioning it as a leader in the industry.

Our Approach

Urban Jungle developed a comprehensive brand strategy that laid the foundation for Wilderland’s long-term success.

This included defining the company’s vision, mission, core values, and positioning, ensuring every aspect of the brand reflected its commitment to improving the well-being of a million people worldwide. 

Through a deep competitor analysis, we identified key differentiators to set Wilderland apart and used these insights to craft a distinct and authentic brand voice. 

Naming the brand was a crucial step in establishing its identity. “Wilderland Botanicals” was chosen as a nod to “the Wilderlands;” a mystical wilderness near the Misty Mountains in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Nestled in the valley below Mt. Lorne, overlooking the pristine Cowley Lakes, Wilderland is unique place embodying the Wild and Free Spirit of Canada’s Yukon. 

With the brand strategy in place, we designed a striking visual identity — blending earthy professionalism with modern sophistication. The logo, font selections, and colour palette were carefully curated to convey trust, efficacy, and nature’s raw beauty. To bring the brand to life, we extended this identity across a range of touchpoints, including business stationery, product packaging, and marketing materials. Every detail, from bottle labels to mailer envelopes and shipping boxes, was designed to create a seamless and immersive wild and earthy brand experience. 

To ensure Wilderland’s story reached the right audience, we developed a content strategy that communicated the brand’s differentiation and core values. This included website content, key messaging, and storytelling elements to highlight the benefits of its herbal medicines and the company’s commitment to regenerative farming. 

A responsive, Shopify-powered e-commerce website was then designed and developed, providing a streamlined shopping experience with intuitive navigation, engaging visuals, and clear calls to action. SEO optimization and performance management were implemented to enhance online visibility and drive conversions.
